PTFE Sheet OR PTFE Teflon Sheet
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sheet, also known as Teflon TM, is a high-performance engineering plastic. It has a wide operating temperature range, is chemically inert (except for some alkali metals), and has a very low coefficient of friction. PTFE has excellent dielectric properties and corrosion resistance, but it is prone to creep due to its non-stick surface.
Group provides a variety of grades with varying characteristics. Our most common and standard grade of PTFE plastic is Virgin, which meets FDA and EC food contact regulations. It can supply this grade with an etched backing that allows the material to be bonded to other materials, or it can be supplied with a dimpled surface if needed. Carbon, glass, stainless steel, and bronze-filled composites are available and offer improved dimensional stability and creep resistance and other individual benefits such as static dissipation and thermal conductivity. In addition, we can provide detectable metal options for use in food processing applications and skived PTFE if an adhesive backing is required.
PTFE is frequently used to make gaskets and seals, insulators, slide bearings, plates, and linings. Because of the material’s properties, the PTFE sheet is machined into a wide variety of finished machined parts for use in aerospace, chemical, printing and publishing, power generation, and food and pharmaceutical. Although PTFE is simple to machine, it is difficult to bond (unless supplied with a chemically etched backing). Due to its soft surface, it is not suitable for applications involving highly abrasive materials.
We provide a plastic machining service that uses cutting-edge CNC Machining technology and can produce parts ranging from simple to complex shapes if needed. There is also a PTFE rod and tube available. Please see the links below or click the ‘buy online’ button above for more knowledge on each grade.
